2 Day inca Trail with Camping

$550.00/From

The 2 Day Inca Trail Hike with Camping  combines the greatness of Machu Picchu with the adventure that involves touring the original Inca Trail for several hours. A great experience for those looking for something different. The Inca Trail is considered the best hike in South America, perhaps the world, it is something you must do and that can change your life. It is one of the most arduous and impressive hiking trails that exist. During 2 days you will experience fatigue and very low temperatures, but everything will dissipate when you see the mist vanish to show you the jewel of the Inca empire, nestled in the middle of that impressive labyrinth of mountains. It is likely that no other place in the world combines so harmoniously, the scenic beauty of its location (between the Andes mountain range and the Amazonian forests) with the vestiges of one of the greatest empires that have ever existed in the world. The Inca Trail was revealed to the world in 1915, when it was found while excavating in the Inca city of Machu Picchu, then the route was drawn three decades later by the Viking expedition, in 1942. Tens of thousands of visitors listen to their nomadic instinct and they decide to travel 40 kilometers to the "Sun Gate" , the door to the wonderful  Machu Picchu citadel; but it is not the only archaeological site you will see, since the tour will show you some of the best Inca buildings you can see in the entire Sacred Valley, comparable with the ruins of Pisac, or with what you will see in Machu Picchu itself. You will be with people from all over the world and in special contact with history and nature, traveling a path of more than 500 years old, at the same time enjoying a natural scenery of incomparable beauty.

What is the Inca Trail history?

Inca Trail is the name that has been given to the road networks or roads that made up the road system of the Inca Empire, in this sense the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is an Inca route through which you reach one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World. On the way you know and enjoy different archaeological sites, beautiful landscapes, beautiful panoramic views and also enjoy the coexistence with a new group of people during the walk; The hours dedicated to food and overnight are made in tents in the middle of nature along the route

When is Inca Trail closed?

As is customary since 2002, every year the Inca Trail, together with the 18 parks that are along this route, are closed in February, since the entities responsible for the Inca Trail, carry out maintenance activities, conservation and cleanliness of the place; they make a treatment to the deteriorated floors, terraces, maintenance of camping areas, cutting vegetation and everything necessary to be ready and adequate for the Inca Trail to be reopened in the month of March. One more reason to restrict entry in February, is given precisely this month in which we have the strongest rains of the season in this region. So with the purpose of taking care of the integrity of the visiting travelers, as well as that of the guides and companions, is that the Inca Trail remains closed during the entire month of February of each year.

Will Machu Picchu also be closed?

On the other hand, you must bear in mind that this temporary closure does NOT affect visits to Machu Picchu; so you can visit this World Wonder any day of February, but through one of its alternative routes such as tours to Machu Picchu via train or alternative adventure tours to the Inca Trail as it is important to remember that the latter remains closed all this month.

When to walk inca trail?

  • Between May and October, the climate is warm and cool, with little rain, sunny days and quite bright.
  • June, July, August and September are undoubtedly the best months to complete the Inca Trail, during the day it is clear and you can clearly observe the landscapes, the days are fresher, however, the nights are cold in the high areas.
  • November and December; it is the time when the rainy season begins, the days are sunny, but at any moment it can rain, as well as, there are cloudy days without rain.
